Graduated from University of Cologne with a B.Sc. in Business Administration and from RWTH Aachen University with a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering and with a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, with a semester abroad at Universidade de Lisboa and Imperial College London. Mathias has professional experience in Data Science at LANXESS, a global specialty chemicals company and held various science assistant (student researcher) positions in RWTH Aachen Unviersity. In his PhD he combines his passion for Machine Learning, Quantum Chemistry, and Thermodynamics to develop data-driven optimization algorithms to design reaction solvents.
